Here is what I like about creating digital painting with my Galaxy S7 tablet including some qualities in the art making processes that are missing.
Advantages with digital painting
No messes to clean up.
No potential fumes or dust to deal with. So wearing a respirator is not required or necessary.
Gloves are not required.
I can paint almost anywhere. Two exceptions being outside in the sun or outside on a snowy winter day.
Studio and work space is compact so I’m not required to pack up a bunch of tools and equipment and haul them around when I travel.
If I wake up in the middle of the night I don’t have turn the lights on in order to work on something. I can also sit up in bed and work.
Type and number of brushes are nearly unlimited.
Size of studio space and storage of materials not a concern. This isn’t a big concern but I threw it in anyway.
A few qualities that are missing with digital painting
There are no smells. At least those that are not unpleasant.
No tactile sensations.
Real life three dimensional quality missing.
Not a lot of interactive body movement except with the fingers holding a stylus.
